When you or someone you know meets the criteria of “bullied”, either you begin the ABI on your own behalf or you begin the ABI on behalf of someone else.
What is the ABI?
Notifying the designated ABH in your school of an isolated incident or an ongoing incident of bullying.
Recovery
Attending a safe space meeting, where you are free to unload, express your feelings, receive peer support, take advantage of counseling from approved counselors and mentors.
Protection
Identifying ways to protect yourself from the effects of bullying. Gaining access to resources that are congruent with the identified protection needed (i.e. change of classes at school, self-defense classes, self-esteem courses, therapy, wellness check-ups)
Education
Attending and providing presentations regarding AB-HI, how others can benefit from initiation, and other resources available to those that do initiate. Registering for AB-HI leadership Academy in order to prepare ABH’s to administer the proper response to bullying that they either witness or experience.
Culture
Participating in a wide variety of programs, events, and activities that make up a community of ABH’s.
Opportunities
There is an overwhelming need for parental support. Counselors, peers, and mentors are a valuable asset, but parental support extends beyond the four walls of school and carries a weight that is reinforced the relationship of the student and guardian. AB-HI presents the opportunity for parents/guardians to support, build, and be a part of the foundational resistance to bullying.
